Local officials ban sexy bikini-wearing mannequin
A US restaurant owner has been forced to tone down his advertising techniques following complaints over his use of a bikini-wearing mannequin.
The mascot was placed outside KT’s Barbeque in Reading, Ohio and quickly resulted in a 40% boost in business following previous struggles.
Praising the impact of the mannequin, owner Kenny Tessel commented: “She’s done it. She has actually made people stop. I know it’s crazy, and it’s hard to believe.”
However, Tessel’s promotional gimmick also sparked a number of complaints from local residents, with one describing it as “a sensational ploy to attract gawkers”.
Attending a local hearing this week, Tessel was instructed to dress the figure more conservatively if he wishes to continue using it. He has since vowed to appeal.
