Be shocked ! FBI: 57 U.S. law enforcement officers killed last year!
It was terrible.A total of 57 law enforcement officers were killed feloniously on duty in 2007, according to the preliminary data released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Monday.
I didn’t think the death toll rose by around 20 percent compared to the 48 recorded in 2006, said a report by FBI.
The report said that most of the officers were shot dead, and two were killed with vehicles.
By circumstance, 16 deaths were resulted from ambush situations,16 died during arrest
situation, 11 were killed while handling traffic pursuits, among others, it said.
Geographically, 31 of the victims officers were killed in the South, nine in the West,
nine in the Midwest, and seven in the Northeast as well as one was slain in Puerto Rico, the U.S. territory.
Shown from the report, last year also witnessed 83 law enforcement officers being accidentally killed in 81 separate
incidents when they were on duty, 17 higher than the number recorded in 2006.
